The Problem with Being Valuable |
Yes you'd think that having value placed on one's self and skills would be a good thing and overall, it is. But in my case, my value as assistant manager at my current location and the lack of qualified people to be shuffled in to replace me should I be moved to the brand new store opening brings me to my current situation. I will stay at my current location until such point as there is a suitable replacement or my apartment sells and I move to Uptown (whichever comes first).
Good and not so good. I really wanted to move to the new store when it opened. It's gonna do crazy big business this summer and I was hoping to maximize my commission potential. On the up side, I am very valuable where I'm at. And the crew we will have working at my current location this summer is a very good crew (though small) and we will likely only add one new employee, so we already all know eachother and work well together). And now I know I will be staying at this location for a while and I have a bunch of projects in reorganizing the store I've been hoping I had time to complete. |
