Strange Pets
At my new house, we have some strange and facinating pets. The fish tank is inhabited by more than just the 2 remaining fish. We have snails and a plethora of them. They are huge and spend their days sucking algae of the sides of everything in the tank. My roommate seems to have given up on trying to have fish and rather just to raise snails. They are much less maintainence. And they are fun to watch. They have creepy cool bug eyes and squishy looking feelers. They are like big suction cups on the bottom and have sucky mouths. And they are not shy (unlike the fish) so I can sit and watch them go about their day.

We also have 2 kitties. The big fluffy one is mine and he's old. The skinny one belongs to Steph and he is young. The young kitty always wants to play with the lazy old kitty. This creates a great source of tension in our house. My old kitty is not very fond of the antics of his housemate. My kitty is content to sit around the house and just be cute and fluffy. He voices his disapproval for rough-housing and antics by growling and hissing. This does not deter the playful younger kitty. He is determined to make a playmate out of old lazy bones. Every now and then we see a glimpse of their true natures, that they actually can get along and deep down are friends. I caught this photo just a couple days ago when they thought no one was looking.
