Getting Artsy in Uptown |
On my day off on Friday, I wandered (well rode my bike) down to the Uptown Art Fair to see some great art, people watch and create this photo-essay. While I was there, I got a mini chair massage, some samples of organic yogurt smoothie and CLIF bar and granola. If I could have justified the expense, I would have liked to purchase a hand crafted ceremic mug for $20. Alas, that is 1/4 of my gasoline budget and simply not possible.
Half way through the booths, I ran into Luke H and we progressed on until meeting up with Erik W. When our (mostly my) feet couldn't take the walking anymore and the crowd began to thicken with the work day ending, we decided to kill some time and get some food. Hopping on bikes, we rode around Lake Calhoun and headed for Stella's (a new and acclaimed fish restaurant). The wait was long, but well worth it. We did hobble down to Old Chicago for a little live blues in the meantime, and the bottle of wine helped too. All in all, a wonderful day off and a surprise meeting with friends.

you've succeeded in making me thoroughly homesick for my beautiful MN! (particularly the vespa pic & calhoun square, for some reason)

Luke looks positively devilish in that picture. like something out of a Scorcese picture!

No he is not. He staged this photo himself. I was just the photographer. That's my wine glass he has.
