Art fest |
It's official, I have a piece in the Fallout Artfest! It's actually edition #2 of Imago Dei from a show entitled Becoming Human at the Porch 2 years ago (at least I think it was 2 years ago).
I had a second print of it at home and ran out to get a frame quickly after work and it's officially in the show. Stop by the Fallout on June 21 and 22 for Artfest. Short films are Friday night. There's a great band (the Psalters) on Saturday night. |

Good for you! That's one of my favorites.

Saw the Psalters in Chattanooga a while back...cool stuff.
Could you talk about your artwork, please?
-
Jen this is really a great piece. Is it a photo?
-
Hannah- It was a 2 photos to begin with. I layered them and digitally manipulated them.
Brad - A short summary: The piece is entitled "Imago Dei" meaning "the image of God" and was originally intended for a show about what it means to be human. It's a child's face seen through a cross because as humans, we are seen by God as his children. He sees us through a "Jesus filter" of sorts. And though we are fallen sinners, he sees us as precious children.

Cool. Thanks.
On the left and top wings of cross, are the "wings" of some sort or are they just incidental parts of the background?
-
They must be happenstance parts of the print. I didn't intend for there to be wings of any sort. That's the joy of art to me, things that are there that you didn't even know you created.

Huh - the Fallout Art fest...my bro and his wife played/sang there on Saturday night. Around 7:00 I believe.
