Ding-dong the Witch is Dead...
...metaphorically speaking that is. In recent days, I have sometimes dreaded going to work due to one particular co-worker (whom I will refer to as W.W. in this post) who insisted on slacking off and breaking company policy by using the internet for personal use. W.W. had a bad habit of ringing up other people's sales under his own name and thus taking credit for them and getting paid commissions for things he didn't sell (no worries, I'm not giving his identity away as I only have male co-workers). Some of the other employees were hip to this practice and had started "stealing them back". When it began happening to me, I had the manager remedy the situation in the computer.

Then a mandate came down from on high: Only the manager can switch the commission credit on any sale, no exceptions. Also, if you sell accessories to someone else's sale, just let it go and realize that they will end up helping your customers and are expected to give them excellent service as well. "You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours" as it were.

W.W. got greedy recently while the manager was away at a trade show with the company execs. Several hundred dollars worth of my sales were stolen by him and I was none too happy to show up at a new week of work seeing he had reversed those items to himself, robbing me of sales I had rightly earned (items picked up from layaway while I was gone). I emailed the manager and went about my day. And last night, I received the news, W.W. would likely be terminated at the end of the day. Yay. When I arrived at work this morning, it was like a sunny beam was shining into the shop and I no longer had to work in defensive mode. Yay. I will be enjoying winter season much more than expected.

Tonight is also my first rehearsal with my newest venture. I'm section leader for St. Christopher's Parish in Roseville. I will be singing with the choir at the 9am Sunday service and I already have a solo. I'm a bit nervous about singing solo with a choir I've not yet gotten to "feel-out", but also very excited to be singing again. So, friends...any of you who know I sing and have wanted to hear me, you may come to St. Christopher's for the 9am service on Sunday and enjoy a good Anglican expression. It is bound to be beautiful and interesting (Sunday is the animal blessing service where people's pets attend church with them and there are strange noises). *edit* The service is in the main sanctuary. That will be interesting with all the animals cooped up inside. *edit* I should go warm up for rehearsal. I need to be early tonight to get briefed on some stuff.
