Grand Opening |
Talia and I and the grand opening of our Hickory Farms kiosk at the Maplewood Mall. Today I learned that Hickory Farms procedures are likely the most detailed of any place I have ever worked. There is a protocol for everything and about a thousand places you have to fill out forms and sign your name in a regular day's work. All in all, it will be a more complex place to work than I ever dreamed. I can't believe with all the things they require you to learn they still expect their staff to be satisfied with a quite low hourly wage. My learning today included sampling procedure, cash register procedure (and I might add that the POS system is likely the worst design I have ever used) and closing procedure. I have a lot yet to learn for something I'll only be using it for 2 months out of my whole life. Oh yeah, and if you're in the mall, stop by and get some free tastes. (and for those of you wondering, yes this does make for 6 jobs I'm working simultaneously. 7 if you count crochetting custom hats to fill orders from church people and a couple online orders). |
