| Be careful what you tell Chris Gott , he just might try it |
If you haven't yet seen the mad scientists of Eepybird.com do tricks with Diet Coke and Mentos you're living in a cave. I've watched it numerous times and keep telling friends they "gotta see this". I can't ever seem to remember the website right, so here I've encoded the whole thing right into the blog. There are more experiments (including one where a "scientist" gets jet-sprayed in the face with 2 liters of Diet Coke) on their website.
So, last night I told Chris and some others about this particular experiment and how you can make a 20 foot geyser out of Diet Coke when done right. He immediately ran out to the gas station to find supplies. The first station didn't have Mentos, so he hopped in his car and went out to find some. Here are the results from his one bottle of Diet Coke and half a roll of Mentos. I didn't catch it at it's peak, but it's still pretty impressive.

There has got to be a way to do like a 55 gallon drum of Diet Coke and 100 pounds of Mentos or something. Anyone wanna go fishing this summer with M-80's? Or maybe have fun with some dry ice and plastic bottles?
