People Person
I've been spending my "free time" over the past week with people instead of my computer and thus, there has been a "dry spell" of sorts on my blog. For those of you who are waiting in trepedation, here are the photos from Sunday's gathering. There will be loads of photos to come after this weekend's camping trip to the north.

A send-off for Jon
This is Jon. Jon used to be my boss. Wednesday was Jon's last day. He's going back to school to get smarter and a piece of paper called a degree.

Last night we had a send-off party for Jon. We went bowling and drank beer. The following photos are excerpts from a fun night with my silly co-workers.

McEyesore
Ooo, I hate McDonald's and I just discovered one of the best websites I've ever seen. Now you can tell McDonald's what you really think about their Hummer toy giveaway and create your own sign to share with the world. Here's one of my favorites:

Soon to be underemployed
That's right, I'm in the midst of a pseudo layoff. It's something of a strategic move though. My store location is being moved and the staff is either being laid off or asked to find something else to do for a couple months. On top of that, I will be training for a different position when February rolls around, so I'm not really staying on as a salesperson. So, to save one of my coworkers from the chopping block (and earn myself a little 'return to work bonus') I will be taking a leave of abscence from the bike shop beginning sometime in Sept.

This is coupled (or tripled maybe) with my having already quit my part time teaching job (which I am very happy about) and finding out today that due to budget cuts, I have been laid off from the choir. So, I will be down to one very very very part time job unless I do something and soon.

I have already begun the search. Tonight, I plan on applying at Whole Foods and Galactic Pizza (both of which are currently hiring) and perhaps the Wedge (though I've applied there many times before and not ever been called for an interview - not once). I have a list of other jobs in my pocket, some of which will require a resume and a formal letter to be sent.

I'm not yet worried about money knowing I have a couple side jobs in Sept which could carry me through October with very little trouble, but I was planning on making that money my winter backup for when money inevitably gets tight. I would like to take a week or two and road trip, but that will all depend on if I find a job that starts right away or if I wait and find something that starts mid-Oct. God will lead me to something I know it, I just don't know what just yet. So I am in need of yet one more thing to be prayed for - work.

Prayer
I have not been one to ask that people pray for me much in the past, especially in this kind of an open forum. But today I am asking for as many prayers as I can get. Without going into detail, please just pray that God will grant me discernment, direction and peace. I really really need it.

Good things
Today, I am smiling about the following: new tennis shoes that were on sale (I needed them for work), coffee and conversation with a new friend, biking with an old friend, two days off in a row, beautiful weather, an upcoming job transfer to a location closer to home, the newest Psalters cd, Balsamic Vinegrette dressing on baby romaine, new jersey knit sheets, sleeping in, my upcoming birthday and the accompanying camping trip, waking up to a purring kitty, yogurt with granola, plans to go to the Irish Fair on Sunday with my roommate, the forecast of a scattered thunderstorm today and my new Minneapolis Library Card. And probably a handful of other things.

Closing Time
I ended up with the closing shift on Sunday (and a last minute customer) and subsequently was very late for church. I managed to find a stiff looking chair over to the side I hoped would help me stay awake. Turned out that cutie Jackson wasn't about to let me doze off. He was being extra cute and kept after me to play with him.
