Shall We Gather at the River
Yesterday was baptism Sunday for Solomon's Porch. Quite a large number of people of all ages and backgrounds were baptised. Many of them whom I'd never met before. Before and after the actual baptisms, children and adults alike frolicked in the shallow lukewarm waters of the creek. It was refreshing to be wet and feel the water evaporate off your skin when the wind would pick up for a moment. Being a fully clothed wet adult seemed to give a new perkiness to some, indulging in a childlike activity.

There was, of course, also celebration with food afterwards. A great picnic set out and more food than our large group could consume. As the sun began to set, the heat subsided a bit and games of frisbee, whiffleball and tag broke out. We certainly are a growing family at the Porch. Our young adults are beginning to blossom into young families and the sounds of children are common place. Shrieks and laughter.

Afterwards, the "ritual" trip to Sebatian Joe's ice cream parlor was had. I was not suprised to find out they did not have anything sugar-free (though kinda ticked at the mean attitude of the girl behind the counter when I nicely asked her). So I rode my bike down to Kowalski's and got myself a pint of chocolate Oatscreme to eat with my friends. It was a good night.

For those who have asked me for copies of particular photos, I have implemented something new to this blog: click-throughs. Larger copies of these photos are available for you if you just click on the small one here. A new window will open an you will be able to download a larger copy. You may also send the URL address of the new window to friends and family if you'd like to direct them to one specific photograph. I hope this makes things a little more "user friendly".
