Adventures on a Wednesday |
I had grand plans for my day off. Instead, I didn't do them. Well, some of them. Slept in, which is always grand. Took a long, hot, lovely scented bath to calm my muscles and mind. Checked my email. And decided to meet a new friend for coffee and conversation. This being totally unlike me (I'm chronically shy and meeting up with people I don't know very well is stress-inducing). We had coffee, shared photos and talked a bit (I'm also not the greatest with conversation starters, though I'm working on it.) For dinner, I quenched a craving I've had for weeks, sushi. More specifically California Roll. I got it from the co-op so it was all good ingredients and not terribly pricey. I'm saving the leftover wassabi and ginger to put in a stirfry tomorrow. Yum. I'm becoming a regular at the library this winter. I returned the last round of videos, most of which were a bust either cause they weren't any good or cause they wouldn't play in my VCR. I checked out a couple more Audrey Hepburn movies, some more cookbooks about Stevia, books on yoga and relaxation, and a couple issues of Mother Earth News. And I fixed my own VCR tonight. It had started to play like a snowstorm. I read online about this kind of issue (they called it head clog). It was recommended that one of those wet head cleaning tapes be used on a setup like I have. So I broke down to buy one since a tv/vcr combo is hard to dismantle to clean by hand. Two passes of the cleaning tape and all is happy again. Yay! So much for those bah humbug sites that said those tapes never work. |
